THE LEGACY
The well-known vintage car enthusiast, Mr. Madan Mohan has been inspired to create a world-class Concours d’Elegance by his love of classic vehicles and his desire to advance India on the worldwide Heritage Motoring Map. To accomplish this dream he founded this mega event ‘the 21 Gun Salute Concours d’Elegance’ dedicated to vintage cars. He uses the 21 Gun Salute Concours d’Elegance to raise awareness of the appeal and significance of Heritage Motoring.
The “21 Gun Salute Heritage & Cultural Trust” has been successfully running the 21 Gun Salute Concours d’Elegance every year since the historic day in 2011 that signaled the beginning of an era of Heritage Motoring in India.
The Concours gets better and better every year, and this one will undoubtedly be the biggest so far. The 21 Gun Salute Concours d’Elegance 2023 is set to be a huge occasion with a tonne of royal guests, major sponsors, spectacular musical performances, and much more.
The biggest and most spectacular Asian Concours show was presented to the audience in 2019 and would return live in January 2023.
WHEN AND WHERE
The heritage car show is a three-day event that will begin on January 6 and last until January 8 held at the Lukshmi Vilas Palace in Vadodara, will be another magical and compelling event for its guests, jury, public, and partners, buoyed by its success over the previous 10 years. The 21 Gun Salute Concours d’Elegance is one of just two Concours recognized as an ICJAG Plus Event worldwide.
200 vintage and classic cars from India, 25 from other countries, 120 veteran motorcycles from around the world, Maharaja cars, and vintage military vehicles will be present for the event. The show’s judging panel will have 35 judges from 27 different nations.
The Chief Patrons of the Concours are H. H. Maharaja Samarjitsinhji Ranjitsinhji Gaekwad of Baroda and H. H. Maharani Radhikaraje Gaekwad of Baroda. The Chief Judge of the Concours is Mr. Christian Kramer, in charge of the international jury panel of 35 internationally renowned expert Class and Team judges who will follow the ICJAG judging guidelines.
Before the show opens its doors, on January 5, 2023, the Statue of Unity Drive will take place. The event will witness 75 antique automobiles being flagged off from Vadodara’s Lukshmi Vilas Palace to the Statue of Unity and back to the palace.
The organizers are able to accurately portray the wide cultural diversity of the nation while encouraging automobile tourism in India due to the tremendous cooperation of the Ministry of Tourism, the Government of India, and other National & International State Tourism Boards. In addition to offering international guests a chance to see and experience one of the world’s oldest civilizations, the event strives to promote vintage and classic motoring in India.
The tenth edition of the event will provide attendees with not only a weekend of splendor on the 6th, 7th, and 8th of January 2023, but also the chance to experience the best vintage and classic marques in the context of history.
